On Wednesday, my friend Carolyn from Pittsburgh and her co-worker Jeff were in town.  We spent a hot and sultry evening enjoying the peace and quiet of Old Friends.  Prized had just arrived at the farm so we were able to see his first turn-out.  All photos courtesy of Carolyn Nicastro.

    Hi Val,
Always get excited when I see pictures pop up on the blog!! The horses look great….Special Ring and Creator look exceptionally handsome!
I am so very sorry for the loss of Awad…it will be very sad not to see him again. Just wondering if Kiri seems to be missing him? Thanks for sharing the photos and hope you guys get a break from the heat soon!

I don’t know if he misses him exactly, but all the horses definitely know when someone different moves into the neighborhood. It always takes a few days for everyone to settle in.

  2. Great pictures, makes me long for another visit!

Val………I JUST checked in on the blog and see that Creator’s eyes are actually visible!!! WHAT ON EARTH HAS HAPPENED?? Did he get a haircut while he was asleep?? Is he suffering from male pattern baldness? Has he, perhaps, had a moment of insanity and actually allowed Michael to COMB his forelock?? Or has he (God forbid) begun to mellow a bit?? NAH! never mind……it’s OK! Creator is, after all………Creator, and he marches to his own drummer.

Prized looks wonderful and very happy. Good for him and all of us…..we get to see him whenever we want, and he gets carrots by the bushel, so everyone wins this one!

    Cheers to all.
